Day 9

In your own space, talk about what surprises you about fandom. It could be a pairing or fandom you never thought you'd like. A fanwork type you never knew existed.

Fandom continues to keep surprising me in it's own little way quite regularly. ♥ The welcoming people. the amazing talent, the support - all of it surprised me when I joined and started actively taking part. I'm still in awe sometimes that I get to be a part of this and participate! I've gotten to meet and talk to so many wonderful people because of this and I'm positive it will never not surprise me. 

But I've learned something new during the snowflake_challenge that has reinforced for me just how awesome fandom is. ♥

I had no idea that there were so many different kinds of fanworks! I used to think there was just fanfiction and fanart. *headdesk* 

The challenge on Day 3 (Creative Process) was specially eye opening! I had no idea, none at all, that creating a podfic took so much effort and time and patience. Or that creating fanart took careful planning and plotting. :)  

Then there's also fanmixes, fanvids, pdfs, meta-posts, rec lists, fan comics, role plays, papercraft, banners, icons, picspams, cosplay, textiles &fabric work - dolls, embroidery, crochet! 

^Incredible, right? Fandom truly is amazing! ♥ ♥ ♥
